Stemming from a desire to serve populations that were sometimes forgotten, Owner and Director Barbara Farrell saw a need in the Tidewater area to assist families with caring for those who were intellectually disabled.  Mrs. Farrell had worked for the city in behavioral health in varied positions, managing group homes, apartments, and case managers.  Because she enjoyed her work tremendously and saw how meeting the needs of these individuals and families, Mrs. Farrell established Residential Living Options LLC in March 2005.

 

“We are one” is the mantra used by RLO.  “We learn from them as they learn from us”, says Mrs. Farrell of the serviced individuals.   Today, RLO serves individuals in three cities:  Chesapeake and Norfolk (group homes) and Portsmouth (Day Support service).
